Aesthetics for the magazine come from a blend of the official R.E.M. Beauty product photography and packaging, and magazine spreads from the 1950s and 60s.
While the original Wizard of Oz movie came out in the late 1930s, it cemented itself as a national staple a bit later on, with the help of annual broadcasts and the introduction of color TVs in the home. To tie it in even further, Ariana Grande's fashion on the Wicked press tour was also heavily inspired by the 50s and 60s, utilizing vintage silhouettes, and even pulling from designer archives.

Process included gathering every available photo from the collection, narrowing down and choosing a mix of product glamours, model shots, and swatches, and ultimately fitting them together in a seamless collage-style page.
