During the Fall 2018 semester, Scroll announced that they would be stopping the weekly print issues and moving to becoming an online-only, campus-focused news organization. The final weekly issue was published on December 11, 2018, close to the end of that semester. Layouts for this paper completely changed, content was focused on the history of Scroll, its best stories, and its staff rather than national, local, and campus news, and the paper was 40 pages, double the size of a normal Scroll issue.

Above: Front and back covers for the final weekly edition of Scroll. We wanted to change the look of the front page from being just a header with a small Scroll logo in the corner to something that helped the photo and Scroll name stand out. I designed the look of the final cover, going for a Time Magazine border and putting the "Scroll: The final weekly issue" front and center. The Managing Editor and I chose 6 or 7 different photo options and together, with the Content Manager and Editor-In-Chief, decided on the two photos seen above.
One of the first sections in the paper showcased a history of BYU-Idaho's newspaper organizations, from the Student Rays to Scroll. I tasked reporters to create 3 stories per iteration: one is a history of that organization, the second is a story taken from that era's paper, and third is a rewrite of that story to show the changes that have occurred since that era.
In addition, I designed the layouts for this entire section. We wanted this issue to include a lot of photos, so my layouts included photos of each era's paper, archive photos of the campus and student life from each era, and current photos of the campus today.

I assisted the Managing Editor in layouts for the Opinion section. Along with designing the logos for BYU-I'm Single and Poetry Place at the beginning of the semester, I designed the layouts for their final appearances in print. I also designed the Content Manager's final opinion piece.

Scroll's final issue featured two photo spreads: one on a behind the scenes look at print production and the other showing a then-and-now of production (1989 vs 2018). I did the layouts for both, with photos being chosen by myself and the Managing Editor.
